We are currently looking for volunteers who could help us with the graphic design of promotional material as well as web designers.

EVS
ACTION 2. EUROPEAN VOLUNTARY SERVICE
The EVS program offers you the opportunity to live in a foreign country while spending your time creatively, integrating in a new community, learning about a different European culture, learning a new language and having a lifetime experience. Travelling expenses, food, accommodation, language lessons, visa costs and a monthly allowance are covered by the program!

Vega YC is an accredited sending and hosting organization for EVS since March 2008.

The philosophy of our organisation is that when volunteer work becomes creative work it can give maximum satisfaction to the person offering their time on an activity and can inspire the community that the work is targeted to offer. Therefore we wish to guide the volunteer in discovering their fields of interest within the aims of the organisation and developing their skills by implementing their own ideas and projects.

The volunteers will gain experience in different methods of working and develop the ability to work in multicultural and changing teams as well as improve their language skills. With the guidance of the tutor they will go through all the phases of completing a project that is structuring, implementing and evaluating an activity.

For the first two weeks the tutor will be discussing with the volunteer their perspectives orientating them on the best way to develop and contribute their talents. They agree together on the organisation of the project and the timetable of activities.

Apart from a personally tailored programme of activities the volunteer will assist in the youth’s center regular activities, that is:

• take part in the regular round table meeting of the organisation as an equal member
• maintain the free internet spot
• assist in the organisation of the weekly film screenings
• provide young people who visit the center with information about the YOUTH IN ACTION programme and the projects of the organisation
• organise awareness events promoting the YOUTH IN ACTION programme and the aims of the organisation within the space of the youth center as well as by visiting other places that local youth hangs out
• assist in office work (replying to emails, maintaining the internet site of the organisation, etc)
• archive visual material of the organisation

Through the activities in the youth center the volunteer will develop better and easier communication with other people, sense of dialogue, tolerance and organisational skills. Most importanly they will integrate in the local community, learn about the serbian culture, promote active approach to civic life and strengthen their own positive perspective.
